I bought this bag a year ago for my new HP dv8t laptop. The selection for both stylish and durable 18" laptop backpacks was very slim, so I was pleased to find the Everki Beacon model. It had a color scheme that included my favorite color, orange, and even had a weather-resistant cover packaged in its underside. Needless to say I ordered it the day I happened on this website.rnrnThe bag has served me well, but it began developing significant wear and tear around 6 months into ownership. The main problem was the strength of the stitching on the backstraps, which began to fray and become undone. I tried stitching it up by hand myself several times, but the stitches never held. On top of the strap problems, the zippers had a tendency to get stuck and break off, with the front-left pocket especially becoming stuck beyond repair. Also, one of the three mesh rivets on the front-right pocket became detached at some point.rnrnThis past month the damage to the bag had become progressively worse, to the point where the white cushioning on the inside of the backstraps was begining to show through. I was worried that the straps would soon snap altogether, so I called Everki customer service in Irvine to relay the damage and see about a RMA. To my surprise, the RMA process couldn't have been any more pain free. I simply sent a representative pictures of the damage along with my contact information, and he sent out a new bag, free-of-charge! It even shipped on the day I placed my warranty claim! This definitely exceeded my wildest expectations, and was easily the most streamlined RMA I've ever gone through. It should also be noted that the representative was very friendly, sympathized with my problem and made sure I got a new bag as soon as possible.rnrnEven though the bag broke down sooner than expected, I would not hesitate to buy another product from Everki . I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality backpack. Their customer service is truly top-notch!
