Everki’s Beacon Backpack and Camber Sling: A Splash Of Color, A Dash Of Style, And A Pinch Of Comfort

Just before CES began we received a package from Everki arrived bearing one of their Beacon backpacks and the new Camber sling tote. I immediately swooped in and claimed the backpack since I was looking for such an addition to my CES entourage. Considering all of the gear I had to carry, a good backpack was essential. Had I known how useful the Camber would turn out to be I would have grabbed that, too. My gear bag at CES consisted of an ASUS UL80Vt ($768.95) ultraportable, a Pentax K-x ($649.95) DSLR, the Motorola Droid ($49.99), my Creative Zen PMP, a pouch full of SD cards and flash drives, my mobile broadband dongle, a bag of cords, and some other small items I needed. I forgot to weigh everything, but I was carrying a significant load on my back the whole week I was in Las Vegas. Luckily, Everki’s promise of excellent weight distribution wasn’t an empty one. My shoulders and back survived the ordeal thanks to the Beacon. Read entire review...

TechwareLabs Camber Review

Looking for a carrying case for your netbook or notebook? Take a close look at what Everki has to offer with their Camber 7” – 13” case. Sure, there are endless companies on the market today to choose from, but not too many have carrying bags for netbooks and even fewer create theirs with style. The Camber from Everki is one that really stood out among others while attending CES 2010. Read complete review.

Gear Diary Beacon Review

Everki recently supplied me with the Beacon Laptop Backpack w/Gaming Console Sleeve to review. Since school started back up, I have spent the past few weeks using it as my main gear bag.  I am pleased with the style and ruggedness of the backpack with daily use; I am able to comfortably carry all of my gear and it is comfortable and looks great. Palm Addicts- Great new laptop case from Everki (Camber)

First, it doesn't weigh anything. The case will provide plenty of protection for your computer, but you won't know you are carrying it. This is a real plus, as a lot of cases I've seen add unwanted weight to your shoulder. The case has a couple of nice pluses, also. First, the shoulder strap converts to a handle so that you can choose one or the other and not have a lot of extra material flopping around. It's quick and easy to do. Second, the way the case opens, like a clamshell, lets you immediately see what's in it and where it is, even though the case is still on your shoulder. Very convenient and once you get used to a case like this you will find it annoying to use another form factor. Read full review...

5 STARS

A great backpack that can hold my newly acquired G75VW. The only thing I would change is the pockets on the 180-degree pocket were larger. I have a lot of peripherals that are only slightly larger than the pockets and would love to utilize that space.

The compartment made to hold a game system is very nice. It looks flimsy when you first take it out, but that is only appearances. It is very soft and fits snug so that your power brick is not knocking around against your Xbox 360.

The pocket intended for media devices is a little to small to hold an iPhone 4, but I am not sure why I would use this to hold my phone anyway.

Everything else works great and the interior of the bag, the felt-like padding, is amazing. I highly recomend this to anyone looking for a functional bag that has to move your Desktop-replacement laptop around as often as I do.
